A family event featuring storytelling, crafts to take home, activities and living history. Children will hear the story of the Violet Jessops and her many escapes from doom and the myth of the cursed mummy aboard Titanic. Additionally, there will be a variety of activities and crafts for both parents and children to participate in throughout the day.
Centring on a letter written by one of the children who travelled on the Titanic, a special family fun day focusing on the experiences of children aboard the ship will be held on Thursday 5th April at the Belfast Barge. Families will come aboard and play games which were played by the passengers, hear stories about the ship, such as the myth of the mummy aboard the Titanic and her curse, and meet characters of the period and hear of their experiences. Families will also have the opportunity to attend the apprentice school and develop skills in order to become fully qualified apprentices who might then have the opportunity to join the crew who sailed on the maiden voyage. Families will have the chance to follow a special trail where they can find out even more information about the maiden voyage. Special craft activities will also be available.
